The Entity killed me 6 times before I found the Landmine trick. Place it at the sliding door before your shift ends. The Entity steps on it, takes massive damage, and retreats. One $40 Landmine beats emptying your entire shotgun while it slowly kills you.
Terminal 13 has multiple monsters that appear when you make mistakes or during random events. Each one has specific counterplay. Learn these patterns and you'll never die to a monster again.
Chapter 1 Monsters
The Entity
Appears at the end of your shift if you let any imposter through the checkpoint.
It slowly walks toward you from the sliding door. Deals damage when close. Keeps approaching until you die or do enough damage.
How to survive with Landmine (Recommended)
- Buy a Landmine ($40) before your shift ends
- Place it right in the middle of the sliding door
- When the Entity enters, it steps on the mine
- Explosion deals massive damage, Entity retreats
- You might get knocked back but you survive
How to survive with Shotgun
- Start shooting immediately when it appears
- Keep backing up while firing
- Takes many shots to make it retreat
- Risky because it can kill you before you do enough damage
If you accidentally let an imposter through, immediately buy a Landmine. Don't wait until the shift ends.
The Employee
Random event during any shift.
Hulking creature rushes through the door toward you. Lights go out. Alarm triggers with 30-second countdown. You must find and kill it before time expires.
How to survive
- Don't panic when it rushes in because it won't attack yet
- Wait for the lights to come back and alarm to start
- Walk out of your workstation
- Turn right in the hallway
- It's crouching there, trying to hide
- One shotgun blast kills it
The Employee always hides in the same spot on the right side of the hallway. Memorize this and you'll never fail this event.
The Boss
Appears at the end of Chapter 1, after completing all three shifts.
Shows up for a cutscene. Reveals the true purpose of your job. "Terminates your employment."
You can't fight it. This is a story event, not a combat encounter. Watch the cutscene and prepare for Chapter 2.
The Boss implies that imposters are using these jobs to learn how to better mimic humans. Your work is helping them adapt.
Chapter 2 Monsters
The Corrector
Appears at the end of your shift if you let any imposter through. This is Chapter 2's version of the Entity.
Walks down the road toward your checkpoint. Same damage pattern as the Entity.
How to survive with Window Cheese (Recommended)
- Stay inside your office until the Corrector enters
- Jump out the window next to the Emergency Button
- The Corrector tries to reach you through the window
- It gets stuck in an animation loop
- Shoot it repeatedly while it's stuck
- It can't reach you, you can't miss
How to survive with Beartrap + Shotgun
- Place a Beartrap at the entrance
- It gets slowed/damaged
- Finish with shotgun
The window cheese might get patched, but for now it's the safest method. Zero risk of death.
The Employee (Power Outage)
Appears when the power goes out and you need to restart it.
Waits at the power building in the back. Chases you after you restart the power.
How to survive
- Go to the power building when the outage happens
- Restart the power
- Immediately start running back to your office
- Don't stop to shoot because it won't die
- Make it to your office and it disappears
Running is the only option. Shooting wastes time and doesn't kill it. Sprint directly to your office.
The Employee (Hiding)
Random event. Announcement says there's a threat hiding at the checkpoint.
Hides somewhere at the checkpoint. You must find and shoot it.
Where to find it
- Check behind the dead tree near the power building
- It blends in well but is visible if you look
- One shotgun blast kills it
Always check the dead tree first. It's the most common hiding spot.
Window Imposter
Appears after you fix the printer during a shift.
Climbs through the window next to the printer. Attacks if you're too close.
How to survive
- Fix the printer
- Immediately back away from the window
- The imposter climbs in and falls flat
- Shoot it while it's getting up
- Takes 2-3 shots
You can place a Beartrap under the window before fixing the printer. It triggers when the imposter lands.
Car Imposters
Appears when someone calls asking for help with their stranded car at the start of the road.
When you approach the car, multiple imposters emerge and chase you.
How to survive
- Walk toward the stranded car (you have to)
- When they start chasing, turn and run
- Sprint back to your office
- Make it inside and they disappear
Don't try to fight. Just run. Your office is the safe zone.
The Scientist
Appears at the end of Chapter 2, after completing all shifts.
Story cutscene similar to The Boss.
The Scientist seems connected to the imposter experiments. More will be revealed in future chapters.

Item Priority for Monster Survival
- Landmine ($40) one-shots Entity/Corrector
- Scanner ($85) prevents mistakes that summon monsters
- Beartrap ($40) is optional for Window Imposter
- Music Box ($50) skip it
- Blunderbuss ($60) skip it
The best monster strategy is prevention. Use the Scanner to identify imposters correctly and you'll rarely face the Entity or Corrector. Check the Imposters Guide for detection methods.
Common Mistakes
Not buying Landmine after a mistake. If you let an imposter through, immediately buy a Landmine. Don't hope you can shotgun the Entity to death.
Trying to fight the power outage Employee. It doesn't die. Just run.
Forgetting the Employee's hiding spot. Right side of hallway (Ch1), dead tree (Ch2). Memorize these.
Standing near the printer window. Back away before the imposter climbs in.
Fighting car imposters. Run. Your office is safety.
