Neo Tennis Awakening Guide

Awakening transforms your Style from strong to overpowered. It's the endgame progression system that most players don't unlock for weeks.

But the requirements aren't obvious. The stat boosts aren't documented. And some Styles benefit way more from awakening than others.

After awakening four different Styles, here's what you actually need to know.

Awakening Quick Reference

Style Awakening Quality Priority
Liberation S-tier (shockwave effect) #1
Void S-tier (enhanced pull) #2
Limitless A-tier (stat boost) #3
Samurai B-tier (faster Quick Draw) #4
Jackpot C-tier (RNG unchanged) Low

What Awakening Does

Awakening upgrades your equipped Style permanently. It provides three major benefits.

Stat Boosts

Awakened Styles gain significant stat increases. The exact numbers vary by Style and rarity, but typical boosts include increased swing speed, serve power, and stamina recovery.

These stats apply passively. You don't need to activate anything. Your awakened Style just performs better in every way.

Enhanced Flow Ability

Some Styles get buffed Flow abilities after awakening.

Liberation's awakening is notorious for this. The base ability gives stamina recovery. The awakened version creates a shockwave effect that disrupts opponent positioning.

Not every Style's Flow ability changes. Some just get the stat boosts. But when awakening does enhance the ability, it's often the difference between good and broken.

Visual Effects

Awakened Styles have different visual effects. Your character glows differently. Abilities have flashier animations.

Purely cosmetic but satisfying to see after grinding for awakening.

Awakening Requirements

To awaken a Style, you need to meet two requirements.

Level 50

Your account must reach level 50. Not your Style level, your account level.

Level 50 is a significant grind. Expect 20-40 hours of play depending on how efficiently you farm experience.

Focus on ranked matches for maximum experience. Wins give more than losses. Play actively rather than AFK strategies.

Style Mastery

You must have played enough matches with the specific Style you want to awaken.

The exact number varies by Style rarity. Commons require fewer matches than Secrets. Expect somewhere between 50-150 matches with the Style equipped.

This counter only tracks matches where the Style is equipped. Matches with other Styles don't count.

Plan ahead. If you're aiming to awaken a specific Style, use it for all your grinding even if you have better options.

Awakening Crystals

Some awakening systems require Awakening Crystals as currency.

Crystals drop from high-level play, certain events, and specific achievements. Check the event calendar when it's active to plan farming routes.

If crystals are required for your Style's awakening, accumulate them before hitting level 50. Otherwise you'll hit the level requirement and still can't awaken.

Which Styles to Awaken

Not all awakenings are equal. Some transform the Style. Others provide marginal gains.

Best Awakenings

Liberation has the strongest awakening in the game. The shockwave effect on the awakened Flow ability is nearly impossible to counter. If you have Liberation, prioritize awakening it.

Void awakening increases the pull effect significantly. Opponents get dragged further out of position. Combined with the stat boosts, awakened Void becomes oppressive.

Limitless awakening isn't as transformative because the base ability is already broken. But the stat boosts still make it better. Awaken if you have it.

Good Awakenings

Samurai Quick Draw becomes faster after awakening. The half-volley window expands slightly, making it easier to trigger consistently.

Employed jump height increases further. Combined with stat boosts, aerial play becomes even more dominant.

Weak Awakenings

Jackpot awakening doesn't fix the RNG problem. You still roll dice on every ability use. The stat boosts help but don't change the fundamental inconsistency.

Common Styles have minimal awakenings. The base abilities are too weak for stat boosts to matter. Don't waste grind time awakening Commons.

Awakening Priority Order

If you have multiple Styles worth awakening, prioritize this way.

  1. Your main ranked Style (whatever you use 90% of the time)
  2. Liberation if you have it (strongest awakening)
  3. Secrets (stat boosts matter more on high-rarity)
  4. Mythics you actively use
  5. Everything else

Don't spread awakening progress across multiple Styles. Focus one at a time. A single awakened Style beats three half-progressed ones.

Farming Level 50

The main bottleneck is reaching level 50. Here's how to speed it up.

Play Ranked

Ranked matches give more experience than casual. Even losses in ranked give more than casual wins.

Queue ranked constantly. The experience difference adds up over dozens of matches.

Complete Daily Quests

Dailies provide bonus experience on top of match rewards. Check the quest menu every session and complete what's available.

Some quests are quick (play 3 matches). Others take longer (hit 50 rally shots in one match). Prioritize quick ones for efficient grinding.

Events

Limited events often have experience multipliers or bonus experience rewards. When events run, grind harder than usual to capitalize.

Check the lobby for event announcements. Don't miss double XP weekends.

Don't AFK

AFK match strategies exist but give reduced experience. Active play earns more per hour than semi-AFK methods.

If you're committed to reaching 50, put in active matches. The grind finishes faster.

After Awakening

Once awakened, your Style is at maximum potential. Focus on these next steps.

Optimize Equipment

Your awakened Style may benefit from different equipment than before. Review our racket recommendations.

The Ice Racket is still generally best but some awakened builds prefer power over speed.

Climb Ranked

With an awakened Style, you should push for higher ranks. The stat advantages over non-awakened players are significant.

Set a rank goal and grind toward it. Awakened Styles can realistically climb to top tiers.

Consider Second Awakening

Some players awaken multiple Styles for variety or counter-picking.

If your current main is fully awakened, consider which Style you'd awaken next. Start accumulating matches with it during casual play.

Common Mistakes

Awakening the Wrong Style

Picking a Style to awaken, grinding to level 50, then regretting the choice. Before committing, check our Tier List to confirm your Style is worth awakening.

Spreading Progress

Playing different Styles every match because they're fun. This delays awakening because mastery counters don't accumulate. Pick one and stick to it.

Ignoring Level 50 Grind

Assuming awakening happens naturally. It doesn't. You need to actively grind ranked matches with experience optimization in mind.

Skipping Events

Events with experience boosts are rare. Missing them extends the grind significantly. Check the lobby for announcements.

Timeline Expectations

Realistically, awakening your first Style takes 4-8 weeks of regular play.

Level 50 is the main time investment. Style mastery happens naturally if you're using the Style during that grind.

Players who optimize experience always (ranked only, all dailies, all events) hit 50 faster. Casual players take longer but get there eventually.

Don't rush to the point of burnout. Awakening is endgame content. It's supposed to take time.
