FNAF Eternal Nights Animatronic Tier List

Puppet and Freddy are S-tier threats with no reliable counters once active. Golden Freddy is A-tier for his power sabotage on Night 5. Foxy and Bonnie are B-tier - dangerous but counterable. Chica and Cupcake are C-tier and rarely cause deaths once you know their mechanics.

After dying 73 times across all 5 nights, I've learned exactly which animatronics are actually dangerous and which ones are just annoying. This tier list ranks them by how likely they are to end your run. For detailed counter strategies, check our animatronics guide.

Animatronic Tier List

Tier Animatronic Threat Level Why
S Puppet Nightmare No counter once spawned
S Freddy Nightmare Opens doors, mask doesn't work
A Golden Freddy High Destroys fuses on Night 5
B Foxy Medium-High Fast but flashlight counters
B Bonnie Medium Sound tracking is punishing
C Chica Low Crouch completely counters
C Cupcake Low Flashlight removes easily

S Tier: Run or Die

Puppet

Threat Level: Nightmare

The Puppet has zero counters once it spawns. None. You just die.

The only "counter" is prevention - charge the music box TV regularly. If you forget and the Puppet emerges, your options are:

  • Run (it's faster)
  • Hide (it will find you)
  • Accept death

I've escaped the Puppet exactly once out of 8 spawns. That's a 12.5% survival rate. Make charging the TV part of your routine.

Deaths attributed to Puppet: 8 out of 73 (11%)

Freddy

Threat Level: Nightmare

Freddy is terrifying because he breaks the rules. The mask doesn't fool him. The security room doors don't stop him. He just walks through.

The only counter is keeping power on. Find fuses immediately every night. Once power fails, Freddy activates and your survival chances plummet.

If Freddy catches you, spam spacebar for the escape minigame. The bar moves faster on later nights. I've survived Freddy on Night 5 exactly once. My spacebar still hasn't recovered.

Deaths attributed to Freddy: 15 out of 73 (21%)

A Tier: Serious Threat

Golden Freddy

Threat Level: High

Golden Freddy doesn't kill you directly most of the time. His danger is indirect:

  • Teleports near you and makes noise
  • Noise attracts other animatronics
  • On Night 5, destroys fuses in the fuse room

That last point is why he's A-tier. Night 5 becomes exponentially harder when Golden Freddy kills the power and Freddy activates. You can't counter Golden Freddy - only avoid him by moving when you hear static.

Deaths attributed to Golden Freddy (indirect): 10 out of 73 (14%)

B Tier: Dangerous but Counterable

Foxy

Threat Level: Medium-High

Foxy is fast. One of the fastest animatronics. But he has a hard counter: flashlight.

Shine your flashlight directly at Foxy to stun him. This gives you time to escape or put on the mask. The problem? Battery management. If your flashlight dies mid-chase, you're dead.

Keep 20%+ battery as emergency reserve. I died on Night 4 at 5:47 AM because my battery hit 0% during a Foxy chase. Still mad about it. Grab FNAF Eternal Nights codes for free revives to recover from deaths like this.

Deaths attributed to Foxy: 18 out of 73 (25%)

Bonnie

Threat Level: Medium

Bonnie killed me more than any other animatronic in my first 20 runs. He tracks by sound, not sight, and his hearing range is massive.

The counter is simple: walk, don't run. Crouch-walk for maximum stealth. The mask works if he gets close. Once I learned to stay quiet, Bonnie deaths dropped to almost zero.

Deaths attributed to Bonnie: 12 out of 73 (16%)

C Tier: Annoying but Manageable

Chica

Threat Level: Low

Chica is the easiest animatronic. Her field of vision shrinks dramatically when you crouch. Just crouch when she's nearby and she'll walk right past you.

The mask also works on her. Between crouching and the mask, Chica should never kill you after Night 1.

Deaths attributed to Chica: 6 out of 73 (8%)

Cupcake

Threat Level: Low

Cupcake guards the music box area. It doesn't chase you around the map - it only attacks when you get close to the TV.

Shine your flashlight to remove it, lure it away, or trap it behind a door. Deal with it quickly, charge the TV, and leave. Cupcake is more of a speed bump than a threat.

Deaths attributed to Cupcake: 4 out of 73 (5%)

Death Distribution Summary

Animatronic Deaths Percentage
Foxy 18 25%
Freddy 15 21%
Bonnie 12 16%
Golden Freddy (indirect) 10 14%
Puppet 8 11%
Chica 6 8%
Cupcake 4 5%

Foxy leads in raw deaths because he's active from Night 1 and I was learning. Freddy and Puppet have lower numbers but higher lethality - when they're active, you're probably dying.

Night-by-Night Threat Assessment

Night Primary Threats Secondary Threats
1 Foxy, Bonnie Chica
2 Foxy, Bonnie, Freddy Chica
3 Foxy, Bonnie, Freddy Chica, Puppet
4 Puppet, Freddy, Foxy Bonnie, Chica
5 Golden Freddy, Freddy, Puppet Everyone else

Night 5 is chaos. Golden Freddy kills power, Freddy activates, and you're fighting for survival against everything at once.

Tips by Tier

S-Tier (Puppet, Freddy): Prevention is the only strategy. Charge the music box. Keep power on. Don't let them activate.

A-Tier (Golden Freddy): Accept that you can't counter him. Move when you hear static. On Night 5, prepare for power failure.

B-Tier (Foxy, Bonnie): Learn their counters. Flashlight for Foxy, silence for Bonnie. These become muscle memory after a few nights.

C-Tier (Chica, Cupcake): Crouch for Chica, flashlight for Cupcake. These should never kill you after Night 1.
