The Third Eye (press Q) reveals anomalies but fills a green meter that tracks supernatural exposure. Use quick 1-2 second taps only. Holding Q for 5+ seconds rapidly fills the meter. At 75%+ you risk the Army of Jinns ending. At 100% you're crossing into Jin World and discovering the Rotten Meatball lore.

I learned this the hard way. Held Q for about 10 seconds to test the limits. Green meter spiked from 20% to 80% in that single use. Got the Army of Jinns ending that run. The spirits literally sat down at my stall and started eating my Bakso. Terrifying and entirely my fault.

How the Third Eye Works

Press and hold Q to activate Third Eye (called "mata batin" in Indonesian). While active:

  • Anomalies reveal their true forms
  • Ghostly figures, distorted features, or supernatural tells become visible
  • Hidden details about customers appear
  • The green meter fills based on duration

The Third Eye is essential for detecting perfect mimics and possessed customers that look completely normal otherwise. But it comes with a cost.

The Green Meter

The green meter on your screen tracks your supernatural exposure. Think of it as "how much the spirit world has noticed you."

What Fills the Meter

  • Third Eye usage - Primary source. Longer holds = faster fill.
  • Anomaly encounters - Each anomaly you encounter (serve or refuse) adds to the meter
  • Supernatural events - Special events like Bell Screech or Stall Tremor
  • Rule violations - Breaking certain rules increases exposure

What Doesn't Fill the Meter

  • Normal customer interactions
  • Preparing and serving Bakso
  • Moving around the stall
  • Using CCTV (press F)

Safe Third Eye Usage

The key is short, targeted bursts. Here's the technique I use:

The Quick Tap Method

  1. Customer approaches
  2. Do a visual scan first (no Third Eye needed for obvious anomalies)
  3. If suspicious but not obvious, tap Q for 1-2 seconds
  4. Release immediately after checking
  5. Make your decision (serve or refuse)

When to Use Third Eye

  • Perfect mimics (99% normal appearance)
  • Suspicious behavior but normal looks
  • Possessed customers (normal outside, anomalous inside)
  • Woman in hijab (appears human, need to confirm benign ghost)
  • Any uncertainty after visual check

When NOT to Use Third Eye

  • Obvious anomalies (faceless, extra limbs, wrong colors)
  • Shadow figures or floating entities
  • Customers with green aura already visible
  • When your meter is above 50%

Dangerous Third Eye Usage

These behaviors will get you killed or worse:

Holding Q for 5+ seconds - The meter fills exponentially, not linearly. 5 seconds of continuous use fills more than five 1-second taps.

Constant scanning - Using Third Eye on every customer regardless of suspicion. You don't need it for obvious anomalies.

Panic spamming - When something scary happens, the instinct is to spam Q. Don't. Stay calm, assess visually first.

Ignoring the meter - If it's above 50%, stop using Third Eye entirely. Visual detection only.

Third Eye and Endings

Your Third Eye usage directly determines which endings are possible:

Clean Shift Requirements

  • Meter stays below 25% throughout shift
  • Only use Third Eye when absolutely necessary
  • Quick taps only, never hold

Army of Jinns Trigger

  • Meter reaches 75%+
  • Multiple anomaly encounters (5+)
  • Continued Third Eye use after warnings

Jin World Trigger

  • Meter reaches 100%
  • Specific choices that embrace the supernatural
  • You cross over into the spirit dimension

Avoiding Supernatural Endings

  • Keep meter below 50%
  • Use visual detection primarily
  • Third Eye only for mimics and possessed customers

Advanced Techniques

The Pre-Check

Before your shift starts, do one quick Third Eye scan of the entire stall. This reveals any environmental anomalies that spawned at the start. Costs minimal meter and gives you information.

The Confirmation Tap

When a customer is 90% likely an anomaly but you're not certain:

  • Position yourself to refuse quickly
  • Tap Q for exactly 1 second
  • If anomaly confirmed, refuse immediately
  • If normal, serve quickly

The Emergency Reserve

Always keep your meter below 50% as an emergency reserve. Some late-night anomalies (like the Meatball Shadow at 4:00 AM) may require Third Eye to survive. If your meter is already maxed, you have no options.

Sound-Based Detection

Many anomalies have audio tells:

  • Faceless Customer: "clacking" joint sounds
  • Banaspati: "I'm going to BURN YOU!!!"
  • Nona: "GRRRRRRRR" scream
  • Bell Screech: 10 seconds of shrill static

Learn these sounds. They let you identify threats without using Third Eye at all.

Common Mistakes

"I'll just hold Q to be safe" - This is the fastest way to the Army of Jinns ending. Quick taps only.

"The meter is at 60%, one more check won't hurt" - It will. At 60%+, visual detection only.

"I need Third Eye for every customer" - You don't. Most anomalies have visual tells. Save Third Eye for the tricky ones.

"I'll use Third Eye during the Bell Screech event" - Don't. Turn off lights and wait. Using Third Eye during supernatural events accelerates meter fill.

Meter Recovery

The green meter does NOT decrease during a shift. Once filled, it stays filled until the shift ends.

This means:

  • Early overuse ruins your entire run
  • You can't "recover" from high meter
  • Plan your Third Eye usage for the whole shift, not just the moment

Practice Runs

If you're new to the game, do a few "learning runs" where you:

  1. Use Third Eye freely to learn what anomalies look like
  2. Accept that you'll get supernatural endings
  3. Memorize the visual tells
  4. Then do "real runs" with minimal Third Eye

This approach taught me more than trying to play perfectly from the start.
